The brief was to update to a more modern kitchen staying within a modest budget in Masterton. Rather than replace everything the overhead cupboards where repainted (this saved having to replace the whole wall and redo the ceiling) Thus the focus was on the kitchen working area. Blocking of the wall added extra space and new bench, under bench kitchen cabinetry, sink and stove top and oven create a clean look. Using flat pack cabinetry, standard benchtops, standard tiles for the splashback and new vinyl on the floor are cost effective ways to modernise on as budget.
