I have lost count of the number of acrylic showers (bases) that I have had to repair or replace. This shower in the Wairarapa as shown in the photo highlights a tell tail sign - small watermark on the wall in the corner junction. Another sign is colouring of the skirting where it meets the shower and the lifting of the vinyl (or vinyl soft when pushing down against it by the corners of the shower). If not picked up early enough water damage spreads to the floor (as in Article 3). Monthly checks and early detection can mean the difference between resealing or replacing the shower.
